The database of recipient strains recognized for biological saftey measures provides information on recipient organisms frequently used for genetic engineering operations. This information concerns the allocation to a risk group, a strain description and information on whether these recipient strains are recognised as part of a biological safety measure in accordance with § 8 para. 1 GenTSV.

There are more detailed specific position statements on the following recipient organisms recognised by the ZKBS as part of a biological safety measure: E. coli K12 strains, P. putida KT2440, haploid laboratory strains of S. cerevisiae.
